Vineyard

Sitting at 720-880’ of elevation this grande dame of the Dundee Hills consistently produces some of the most complex and ethereal wines in the region.  The vineyard was established in 1976, and with subsequent plantings, was expanded to 22 acres. It is a vineyard that we believe to be one of the very best in Oregon.  We are lucky to source about an acre worth of vines, split between Pinot noir (115), Chardonnay (108) and Pinot meunier.

Tasting Notes

The wine opens with a classic Abbey Ridge bouquet, dominated by pomaceous aromas of crisp apple and poached pear, layered with the rich sweetness of warm caramel and the essence of ripe white fig. On the palate, this sparkling wine shows excellent structure and a lush texture, where bold flavors of toasted graham cracker and lemon curd merge seamlessly with complex undertones of sweet marzipan. A touch of nutmeg spice warms the mid-palate, leading into a long, vibrant finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Dungeness Crab Cakes: Serve with a light lemon-herb aioli. The crab matches the wine's lush texture, and the aioli ties directly into the lemon curd flavor profile.

  • Roasted Chicken: Season with thyme and a touch of nutmeg under the skin. The vibrant, long finish of the sparkling wine cuts through the rich chicken fat and cleanses the palate.

  • Aged Gouda or Comté: These cheeses naturally possess nutty, caramel-like crystals. They will seamlessly amplify the warm caramel and marzipan elements in the wine.
